A short list of words and sayings that don't sit well with me...
Hump day
This one is used by hip people in offices round the world as well as social websites (Facebook and the like) to give a nod to the fact that the week is halfway done..... thus the "hump" of the week has arrived and there's reason to celebrate...
I, however, always think of humping as sex, or "doing it" ...
You can only imagine the distress it causes me to see "Happy Hump Day" or "Wednesday's Hump Day" on the live news feed on Facebook...
Va-J or Va-J-J
This one makes me uncomfortable for several reasons, not the least of which is the fact that I can hardly even stand to use the correct anatomical word to describe "down there" let alone Va-J....
and when I hear my daughters 17 year old peers talking about their nether-regions by using hip slang terms like Va-J or Va-J-J, it makes me blush and then get all blotchy...
And really....shouldn't it be Va-G or Va-G-G if we want to get technical here?!
I'd love to hear some of your pet peeve words...
(and now that it came up.... I don't like the phrase "pet peeve" either!!)

suck. As in "this sucks". hate that. also, diet. As in "This diet is good for you." If it has the word "die" in it, DON'T associate it with food. Donkey Punch. I will just let you urban dictionary. Never heard it said out loud, which I am thankful for. Still, I don't like it one bit. And finally, (and I am starting to feel like Andy Rooney), I really don't like it when people say the "p" word. Even when someone calls their cat that word, I don't like it. Besides, why would something so functional like a va-j-j be compared to a wimpy man?
I posted that but was too lazy to resign up and too old to remember my account. Which is not technically a word, but how come you always have to have an "account" for everything? HATE IT. Paula
